Guacamole

Wednesday, July 1, 2020
We like our guacamole a little chunky, a bit smokey with a little crunch. It takes a while for an avocado to absorb all the flavors you add to it. If you ever wonder if your guac is spicy or limey enough, wait a few minutes before you add more so that you don’t accidentally overseason it. Also, your chips add extra salt, so taste test your guac with a chip.

Pro tip, dice your avocado inside of the peal with a paring knife and then scoop it out with a spoon.

Ingredients

4 ripe Hass avocados, diced
¼ medium red onion, finely diced
1 serrano chile, seeded and finely diced
1 garlic clove, finely grated
1 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
1 tsp. smoked paprika
1 tsp. ground cumin

Instructions

Place the red onion in a paper towel and squeeze the excess juice out of them. This will help the red onion taking over your guacamole.
In a small bowl, scoop out three of avacados and mash with a potato masher or fork.
Add the remaining ingredients into the bowl. Stir to combine. Allow the guacamole to rest for 5 minutes.
If you plan on serving with chips, taste test with a chip. Season with salt.
