French 75
Tuesday, August 9, 2022
A classic that has always been part of our house and seems to be making a comeback to brunch menus. An effervescent drink that offers a boozier kick than the traditional Mimosa. If you are one that tends to be more bubbles than juice, a French 75 should be on your list. There has always been a debate if gin or cognac is the traditional recipe. We tend to mix it with gin and enjoy the cognac kick as well.
Ingredients
1 oz. dry gin
0.5 oz. fresh lemon juice
0.5 oz. simple syrup
3 oz. Champagne
Lemon peel
Instructions
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the gin, lemon juice and simply syrup. Shake until chilled.
Strain the cocktail shaker into a champagne flute.
Top with the champagne. Express the lemon peel on top and then curl for a twist and place on the rim.
