Lemon-Pepper Salami Bites

Bright citrus and fresh-ground pepper put a festive spin on two party staples: Cured meat and nuts, specfically, Marcona almonds. Yes we heard you giggle a little after that last sentence.

Ingredients

2 lbs. hard salami, thinly sliced
½ cup Marcona almonds
1 lemon
Freshly ground black pepper
extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

Layer salami with some almonds in a shallow bowl.
Finely grate lemon zest over; save fruit for another time.
Top with a few grinds of pepper and drizzle generously with oil.
